Chelsea To Splash £110m In A Bid To Sign Atletico Madrid Stop Stopper

Chelsea football club may spend £110m to secure the signing of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper, Jan Oblak.

Jan Oblak, 27, is a Slovenia born goalkeeper who joined Atletico Madrid for a £16m deal after he won the domestic treble in the 2013-2014 season with Portuguese side, Benfica at the early age of 17.

With Jan Oblak's release clause been a whopping £110 million (€120m/$137.5m), Chelsea will have to trigger the release clause if they are willing to have a contract talks with the Atletico Madrid.

The blues manager, Frank Lampard, currently not convinced or confident with the performance of their first choice keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, he will be in the hunt for an option with Oblak currently in the their top transfer targets.

Chelsea are keen to land a top goalkeeper as a potential replacement for Kapa Arrizabalaga, who is heavily linked with a deal from Spanish side Valencia and Sevilla,

Valencia recently enquired about potential loan arrangement for the stop stopper but with Kapa current earnings of £170,000-per-week may strike a stumbling block for the out of favor Chelsea goalkeeper signature.

With the current high release clause of Oblak, Chelsea will hope on the good relationship with Aletico Madrid will land them the goalkeeper, having seen the successful transfer of deals of Diego Costa, Thibaut courtois and Alvaro Morata in recent seasons between the two clubs.

What are your thoughts on Oblak, is he worth the asking price?
