REPORTS: Chelsea among the clubs interested in signing a new defensive midfielder from Everton

It is believed that Chelsea football club are on the lookout for midfield options and have now identified young defensive midfielder Amadou Onana as a transfer target.

The 21-year-old Belgium International, who decided to leave Ligue 1 side Lille for Everton football club back in 2022 has been quite impressive in the Premier League so far.

The young defensive midfielder has enjoyed an interesting 2022/2023 football season so far, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the 25 matches he has played.

His impressive performances in defensive midfield is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea football club and according to reports from The Sun, the Premier League side are interested in Amadou Onana.

The reports further claimed that the Blues are really interested in Amadou Onana and are now making moves to lure the young defensive midfielder away from Everton football club.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Graham Potter wants to add more rigidity to his midfield options and he has now identified Amadou Onana as a needed addition to his squad.

However, having spent just one season at Everton football club, it remains to be seen if Amadou Onana will choose to continue his developments at the club or he will be interested in a move to join Chelsea.
