Lionel Messi wins his seventh Pichichi award of his career. The Barcelona captain netted 25 goals for his club to finish ahead of second placed Karim Benzema who is on 21 goals.
This is the fourth consecutive time in a row that the Argentine has finished at top of the scoring charts in Spain's top flight. This makes the Argentine to level with Hugo Sanchez as the player with longest streak of winning Pichichi award.
The playmaker also sets another record as the player with the most assist in a single season. He provided 21 assists this season which the highest tally recorded by a player in a single season in Laliga Santander.
Even at the age of 33, the playmaker's importance is for all to see. He netted 25 out of the club's 86 goals this campaign. He scored 29 percent of the Barcelona goals this term.
