Wembley Stadium

Owned by the English national football team and used by Tottenham Hotspur FC, the 90,000 seater grand Webley stadium is no doubt one of the most prized stadiums in Soccer.

Wembley Stadium (branded as Wembley Stadium connected by EE for sponsorship reasons) is a multi-purpose stadium in Wembley , London.

It opened in 2007 on the site of the original Wembley Stadium, which was demolished from 2002 to 2003.

The stadium hosts major football matches including home matches of the England national football team, and the FA Cup Final. Wembley Stadium is owned by the governing body of English football, the Football Association (the FA), through its subsidiary Wembley National Stadium Ltd (WNSL). The FA headquarters are in the stadium.

With 90,000 seats, it is the largest football stadium in England, the largest stadium in the UK and the second-largest stadium in Europe .

After its reconstruction in 2007, the transformed New Wembley stadium looked better and grander than its former 1923 look. It was the Venue for 2011, 2012 UCL finals and also the London 2012 Olympic football game final.

How much does it cost?

Cost: $ 1.25 billion

The stadium was built by Australian firm Multiplex at a cost of £798 million (£1.2 billion today). Contrary to popular belief, Wembley Stadium does not have a retractable roof which covers the playing surface.
