France football, the organizer of the highest award for football players, balloon d'or, announced on Monday through its official website that the balloon d'or 2020 is cancelled.
The reason being the long break of football between March and June due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
However, fans are not having any of it as they argued that the same number of football matches was played and the award could have been held.
They accused the organizer that it was because Lewandowski is most likely to win the award and is the reason for the cancellation of the event.
Lewandowski has been tipped by football fans and pundits to win the award after his amazing display in football this season.
In addition, Bayern are strong contender for the Champions League trophy this season and clinching the UCL trophy will all but consolidate his chance of winning the Balloon d'or.
Fans also accused that had it been Messi or Ronaldo is the favorite to win the award, the ceremony would have held.
Do you think France football are against Lewandowski winning the award?
