Chelsea started the match on the front foot, with Thomas Tuchel men creating chances, dominating possession, sending in dangerous crosses, with the likes of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech tormenting Fabinho and Kabal in Liverpool's defence.
Chelsea broke the deadlock but was later cancelled, it came from a brilliant piece of play from German forward, Timo Werner who capitalised on a mistake by Allison to make it one nil to Chelsea, but VAR Reviewed it and it was disallowed for offside.
Liverpool improved a bit, With Mohammed Salah coming close to scoring, after a brilliant pass from Robertson, but the Egyptian winger shot wide.
Chelsea finally broke the deadlock, this time it wasn't disallowed, after France international, Ngolo Kanye gave a nice pass to Mason Mount who went past Liverpool defenders before smashing it in to make it 1-0 to the Blues.
