Arsenal's hope of winning the English Premier League title was handed a major boost on Tuesday evening at the Emirates Stadium, following their impressive 3-1 win over Chelsea in their rescheduled game of the season.
The Gunners entered the London Derby off the back of their disappointing 4-1 loss to Manchester City in their last Premier League outing, and they were looking for a victory over their city rivals to end their four-game winless streak in the campaign.
The Mikel Arteta-led team started the game on a promising note as they registered the first goal of the game in the 18th minute when Martin Odegaard scored to give the Gunners their well-deserved lead. The Norwegian midfielder doubled the advantage for his team in the 31st minute before Gabriel Jesus scored the third goal of the game to put the North Londoners in total control of the interesting encounter. However, Noni Madueke pulled one back for the Blues in the 65th minute but it was not enough to save them from yet another defeat.
