Financial risks on current Real Madrid players that did not pay the club

A football club like Real Madrid invests millions in the purchase and salary of top players with the hope that they will deliver. Investing millions in a footballer is risky, sometimes, it works out as planned and other times, the club may regret signing them.

1. Gareth Bale.

In 2013, Real Madrid spent over €100 million to sign the Welshman from Tottenham Hotspur, he is one of the highest-paid players in the squad, but his performance for the club is nothing to write home about.

He seems to prioritize and be committed to Wales more than Real Madrid, he is not playing for Real Madrid because of injuries, but he played for Wales to celebrate his 100th appearance at the club.

His performance dropped to the extent that his value is currently €10 million as per Transfermarkt. He keeps getting injured, the coaches cannot rely on him, yet he gets a hefty salary. Real Madrid's compensation is that his contract ends in a few months, and they are unlikely to renew it.

2. Eden Hazard.

Real Madrid fans now seem to be used to the unavailability of Hazard, who they hoped would replace Ronaldo. A player of his caliber should be leading Real Madrid in terms of creativity, assists, and goals, that is why the club paid €100 million to Chelsea for his services.

In 2 years, the 30-year-old managed to score 4 goals, and he keeps dropping in the pecking order of Real Madrid's coach, Carlo Ancelotti. If fans remember how effective he was for Chelsea and his current performance for Real Madrid, it will hurt them more because they expected more.
