The Nigerian defender joins Boavista for a reported fee of ₦2.5 billion (five million euros), according to NigeriaFootball360.
The 24 years old Nigerian international spent last season on loan at the Estádio do Bessa from Porto last season but the Portuguese side have decided to make the deal permanent.
There was an option of paying five million euros for Awaziem’s services which the Os Axadrezados have taken up to keep the former Leganes defender.
The deal did not come as a surprise to many of their fans as Awaziem played a key role in Boavista’s successful battle to avoid relegation from the Portuguese top-flight and captained the team in some games.
Awaziem played 27 times for Jesualdo Ferreira’s men, leading the team out on four occasions as they finished 13th with 36 points.
