Liverpool miss out on EPL Record Points

Newly crowned EPL Champions Liverpool misses out on EPL record points haul after they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday Night.

Goals from French Striker Alexandre Lacazette and a first EPL goal for Reiss Nelson was able to condemn the Merseyside Club to their fourth Premier League defeats, leaving them at 93 Points with Two games to go before the end of the Season.

Uncharacteristic errors from Virgil van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson saw Arsenal claim a vital win after the derby loss against Tottenham. The Match happens to be going in Liverpool favour after Mane put the reds ahead in the 20th Minute. Arsenal then reacted with goals from Lacazette and Nelson to take the all important three points.

The defeat means Liverpool will not meet up with Manchester City record points for an EPL season, which is 100 Points achieved by the Citizens in 2017/18 Season.

Arsenal will next face Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday at Wembley, while Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield on Wednesday in the first of their last two matches of the Season.
