ATM 2-3 LIV: Salah's masterclass is a worrying sign for Man United

Mohamed Salah is a man on fire at the moment and he continued his fine form in the UEFA Champions League as he guided Liverpool to a 3-2 victory away to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.

The Egyptian winger opened the scoring with another wonderful solo goal as he dribbled past three Atletico defenders to find the bottom corner via a deflected shot. Naby Keita doubled the advantage few minutes later but a comeback effort from the home side led by Greizmann made the score line level before half time.

Greizmann received a straight red card in the second period to give Liverpool an advantage which they capitalized on thanks to Salah's calm penalty in the 78th minute.

With his goals on Tuesday night, Salah has now taken his Champions League tally to 5 goals (in just 3 appearances). He is also one of the leading goalscorers in the English Premier League with 7 goals in 8 appearances so far. In total, he has 16 goal contributions in the Champions League and Premier League this season (12 goals and 4 assists in just 11 matches played).

Manchester United could be his next victim

Salah's blistering form will come as a worry to Manchester United who are his next opponents this weekend. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have struggled defensively this season with just one clean sheet across all competitions.

Even with the addition of Varane to their defence line that already had Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan Bissaka and Luke Shaw, the Red Devils are still finding it hard to cope with the attacking threat of their opponents.

United's defensive frailties will be a cause for worry especially with Salah and Liverpool coming to Old Trafford this weekend. The former Chelsea winger will fancy himself to get on the score sheet against Solskjaer's side who cannot keep a clean sheet at the moment.

Liverpool's win over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night maintained their 100% record in the competition, with three wins from three so far. They now sit comfortably at the top of group B with 5 points ahead of Atletico Madrid in second place.
