Manchester United have announced that Mason Greenwood has signed a new contract which will keep him in the club until June 2025,with option to extend for a further year.

Greenwood is a product of Manchester United football academy and has been in the club since the age of seven.

The 19 years old,who is Manchester united youngest goal scorer in European competition,has already made 82 appearances for the club.Greenwood is one of the nine academy graduates who has featured in a first team match day this season.

Mason Greenwood said,"When you join a club at 7 years old,you just dream of playing for the senior team one day.I have worked so hard to reach this level and the last two years have been amazing.There is so much that I want to achieve in the game and I know that this is the perfect environment for me to play my football.

"With the support from the manager,his coaching staffs and so many great players to learn from.I know that I'm developing every single day.There is a lot more to come from myself and this team and I am committed to working hard to help the club in the achievement of its objectives.

"I want to repay the club for the support that everyone has given me over the years and show everyone just what I'm capable of doing on the pitch".

"He has made great progress this season,showing real maturity and adaptability in his games,which has seen him develope into one of the best young players in the Club.

"While it is easy for people outside of the club to forget that Mason is just 19 years,it is our job as Coaches to ensure that he reaches his phenomenal potential and every step we take is to help him along that part.

"Mason is naturally gifted and has a brilliant attitude.We know how important he is going to be for Manchester United over the coming seasons".
