Arsenal are set to seal a deal with former Chelsea star David Luiz with the Brazilian defender in line for a contract extension, according to The independent.
The Brazil international joined Arsenal in 2019 from Chelsea and since then he has been one of the most important players at the club.
According to reports, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to keep hold of the former Paris Saint-Germain defender at the club beyond this season because of his experience in the game which means he would be able to help others in the squad.
After losing Mesut Ozil in January, Arteta cannot risk losing yet another experienced player in the squad which is why the club is planning on holding on to Luiz.
Luiz has featured for the Gunners 20 times this season in all competition and he would be offered a new contract at the end of this campaign.
Do you think David Luiz deserve a new contract at Arsenal?
