Behind the controversial personality of Jose Mourinho is a caring Manager

Jose Mourinho has made a name for himself in Management after his average career as a Footballer. The trophies that the Portugal National couldn't win as a Player, he has won it as a Manager. He has managed many top clubs like Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspurs but it was in FC Porto that he gained prominence.

Jose Mourinho is among the most decorated Managers in the history of club Football and he's also seen as one of the greatest Managers of all-time. One thing spectacular about Jose Mourinho is that he's a result-oriented Manager. All he cares about and requires from his Players is getting the job. He applies series of unconventional and unorthodox tactics just to attain his goal.

From telling his Players at Real Madrid to deliberately get sent off in a Champions League Match to Parking the bus at Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is like a Magician that's never short of tricks to pull out of his hat. The 58-year-old is also popular among the Press because of his occasional controversial statements about a particular Player, club or Manager.

Managing top clubs in Europe has made Jose Mourinho worked with a lot of great Players. Unfortunately, not all these Players had a smooth relationship with him. Players like John Terry, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard who worked with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea enjoyed their time with the Manager while Luke Shaw will have a different tale to tell.

In 2016, Jose Mourinho told the press that Luke Shaw cannot make a decision on his own. According to Mirror Football, Mourinho said: "Shaw was in front of me and I was making every decision for him. He has to change his football Brain." Luke Shaw had to endure this huge criticism even after Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United.

As tough as Jose Mourinho was on Luke Shaw, the Portugal National still had Players that he had a soft spot for. According to ESPN, Jesse Lingard told Players' tribune that Jose Mourinho would just FaceTime him randomly just to ask about how he's doing.

He said: "Sometimes, I'd look at my phone and I'd be getting a random FaceTime from him. Just out of nowhere, just to check in. I use to find it so strange at first. He'd call and ask how I was doing. It showed how much he cared about us."

Another Player that Jose Mourinho has taken a recent likening into is Tammy Abraham. Remember that Jose Mourinho was the reason why Tammy Abraham moved to AS Roma last summer from Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho had openly brag that he'll transform the Cobham graduate into a world class Striker that will be hard for Gareth Southgate to ignore for England international duties.
