Manchester United stalled on an opportunity to close the gap on Manchester City when they were held to a draw away from by struggling and relegation bound side West Brom. A few weeks ago the Red Devils were top of the league table but now they trail by 7 points.
West Brom had taken the lead as early as the 2nd minute of the game before Bruno Fernandes stepped up just before half time to level the scores with a well-taken volley.
In the past few weeks, Man U has dropped points unnecessarily in matches where they could have taken all three points and now with the likes of Leicester City and Chelsea looking rejuvenated, Ole Gunnar should have something to worry about.
Picking up just 5 points from a possible 15 in your last five matches is not a good display for a team who wishes to contend for the EPL title or a good position on the log.
European football is back which means United will resume playing Thursday night football alongside the EPL which will be more difficult and stressful
Let's quickly look at Manchester United's next four fixtures in the premier league;
Up next is Newcastle, followed by a crunchy tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Just after that, the big one comes up - the Manchester Derby and then a home fixture versus stubborn West Ham United.
Coupled with a double legged fixture against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, the coming days are going to be tough for Manchester United.
So man U fans, do you think you can still call yourself title contenders by mid-match looking at this upcoming fixtures?
