Can Dembele and Aguero's return change Barcelona's poor form?

In a recent press conference, Barcelona president Joan Laporta confirmed that Ronald Koeman will continue as the club's manager. The president is ready to give the manager a second chance partly due to the fact that Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero are yet to return from injury. But can these two players save the Catalan club from their bad performance if they return?

One thing to examine is the main aspect in which Barcelona have performed poorly this season. In defence, the club have conceded 13 goals in 9 games so far and have only kept one clean sheet in those games.

In attack, the situation is not convincing either as they've managed 11 goals this season and failed to score in 4 games. While the defence is obviously the main problem, the attack seems to be the source of that problem. Barcelona wouldn't have lost some games if their attack has been very brilliant.

Dembele and Aguero will definitely add more life and options to Barcelona's attack. However, only the former will be a starter if he is fully fit, while the former Man City star will play the role of a substitute in crucial games. But even if both players return, they may not solve the team's problem.

This is because Aguero is no longer in his prime. He has also been prone to injuries in recent years and may not be consistent in front of goal.

There is too much expectation on Dembele from Koeman's point of view. The Frenchman has good qualities but relying on him to turn the team's situation around may not bring the desired result.

All Barcelona need is a new and good strategy that can help the team work together in every aspect to perform better since there are teams that play with just one striker and still get good results.

Dembele and Aguero will return immediately after the international break. If there is no good tactical plan, they may not prevent the team from performing dismally.
