Leeds United Promoted To the Premier League in Style after 16years of Absence

Championship Leeds United (The Peacocks) has gained promotion to the English premier league which is the highest league in England after 16 years of absence.

The three times England champions and one time Europe runner ups have sealed their place back in the English top flight after nearly two decades.

Leeds 1-0 win over Barnsley with Arsenal loanee Smith Rowe scoring the lone goal secured them automatic promotion as Westbrom were defeated by Huddersfield. As soon as the final whistle was blown in the Westbrom match, Leeds United were quick to express their joy of returning back to the Premier league.

Despite pleas from the Club to supporters to stay at home and celebrate, fans couldn't withstand their joy by celebrating in the streets after knowing that their 16years wait is over.

After 16years of wait, Leeds fans had no intentions celebrating this great moment indoors, rather they matched in front of the Leeds Stadium singing with their heart songs of joy.

Congratulations has flooded in on social media after this great success.

"After Long 16years finally the wait is over, our dreams has come to pass" Lucas Radebe former Leeds defender sent his congratulations.

"Welcome back to the premier League, promotion well deserved" former Leeds & Manchester United Defender Rio Ferdinand said.

"Congratulations Boys, see You next season" ManCity Benjamin Mendy stated.

Leeds United stayed in the EPL for 14years before relegating in the 2003/04 season.

Congratulations to them...
