Could Aubameyang be the man to replace Messi's goals at Barcelona?

According to the reports making the news, FC Barcelona are eyeing a potential move for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to add him to their attack this season.

Aubameyang missed Arsenal's opening game of the season which they lost to newly promoted Brentford FC on Friday night. Barcelona are reportedly looking to bring in the Arsenal captain to give them an extra option in attack, after Lionel Messi left them to join Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer.

A move to the Camp Nou could prove to be the best fit for both Aubameyang and Barcelona.

The Gabonese forward is blessed with pace and an excellent finishing ability which will see him score a lot of goals in the current Barça team. Linking up with names like Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati, Antoine Greizmann and Pedri will provide him with a chance to play with real world class players for the first time in his career.

Even at Arsenal where the quality of the squad is not as good as the one you'd find at Camp Nou, Aubameyang has still managed to score plenty of goals in England. He even finished as the joint top goalscorer to win the EPL golden boot two seasons ago and his goals were pivotal in Arsenal's last FA Cup triumph.

If were being realistic, it is highly unlikely that Aubameyang will be able to replicate Messi's outrageous numbers in goals and assists, but there is no doubt that he is very capable of bagging the goals at Barcelona if the move goes through.

How many goals will Aubameyang score for Barcelona this season if they sign him fro Arsenal?
