Messi, who made a shocking move to PSG earlier this year started the game against Manchester City at the Pac de Prince Stadium.
PSG took the lead in the first half after Idrissa Gueye effort curled high past Manchester City's goalie Ederson to make it 1-0. Manchester City came close to equalising before halftime but both Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva's effort hit the woodwork.
Coming into the second half, Manchester city looked like the team to score but all their effort were nothing to account for. They were punished in the 73rd minutes by Messi who combined with Mbappe to make it 2-0. The game ended 2-0 in favour if PSG.
