After intriguing UEFA matches in the middle of the week, where Manchester City defeated Real Madrid in the semifinals, the English Premier League got underway this past weekend. In order to advance to the championship game versus Inter Milan, the Cityzens thrashed the Los Blancos 5-1. Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford played in the opening Premier League matchup of the weekend.

For the home team, Harry Kane scored first, but Bryan Mbuemo tied the score and gave Brentford the lead before Wissa added another. Casemiro opened the score for Manchester United as they also got things going. On the other side, Crystal Palace, playing at the Craven Cottage Stadium, quickly took the lead against Fulham.

Alexander Mitrovic scored twice to tie the score and give his team the advantage. In the 83rd minute, Palace tied the score. Liverpool's chances of making the Champions League were severely damaged. The first-half goal by Jacob Ramsey gave Unai Emery's team the lead. Salah's exquisite cross was converted by Roberto Firmino late in the second half to even the score.
