Setien and Valverde were not "big names" by any means before joining FC Barcelona. Setien really made his name after his stint and Betis, as for Valverde, he made his name at Bilbao. You see where I am going with this? Setien and Valverde were both considered good managers. However, none of them had the experience of working at a massive club like FC Barcelona. Being a success at a club like Betis or Bilbao is completely different from being a success at a club like FC Barcelona. Valverde and Setien have the mentality that a manager of a "small club" would have, and that very clear by their words and tactics.
Why this is a problem: Apart from tactics, man management and atitude is a massive factor when managing Barcelona. The players have never seemed to buy into Setien's plans/tactics. There has been a clear divide since day one, and that divide off the pitch and transcend onto the pitch.
