WC 2022 European Qualifiers: Group G Match Review, Top Scorers, and Teams Playing In The Playoffs

   After all the European qualifiers matches have been played today, we now know all the teams that have gained automatic qualifications and those that would be playing in the playoffs.

   Before we talk about teams that would be playing in the playoffs, let's review the matches played in Group G on Tuesday.

   Latvia got a 3-1 win against Gibraltar and this sees them accumulate 9 points while Gibraltar would be going back home.  

  Turkey got a 2-1 win against Montenegro to clinch a second-place finish. They would now proceed to the playoff rounds. 

   Erling Haaland's wait for his first national team major tournament continued as his team fell to a 2-0 defeat against the Netherlands. 

   All of this means that The Netherlands got the automatic qualification, Turkey would be playing in the playoffs, while Latvia, Montenegro, Norway, and Gibraltar would have to pack their bags. 

European Qualifiers Top Scorers 

Harry Kane of England and Memphis Depay of the Netherlands lead the way with 12 goals in the qualifiers. Robert Lewandowski of Poland, Aleksandar Mitrovic of Serbia, and Eran Zahavi of Israel are joint-second with 8 goals apiece.
