The second phase of the world cup qualifiers among the various countries involved in the competition was played yesterday. Top countries like England impressed outstandingly,as they went on to register five goals against a helpless Andorra. Some results of top countries who played yesterday; Scotland beat Israel 3-2 thanks to a 94' minute McTominay goal,England sent five goals past Andorra, Ukraine beat Finland 2-1, Sweden defeated Kosovo 3-0, and Ireland sent three past Azerbaijan.
Denmark beat Moldova 4-0, Poland defeated San Marino 5-0, Albernia beat Hungary 1-0, Austria sent two past Faroe Islands,while Switzerland were held to a 2-2 draw with Northern Ireland.
Several players impressed exceptionally for their national teams on the big stage. Some of these players who are playing in Europe's top leagues put in an impressive display for their respective countries,with a dazzling performance to win all three points or share the points against an in-form opponent.
In this article,we will be taking a look at four Manchester United players who registered a goal or assist for their respective national teams in the World Cup Qualifiers yesterday;
1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)
The 36 year old Portuguese forward netted a goal in Portugal's 3-0 win over Qatar, bringing his total number of International goals to 112. The five time ballon d'or winner also made history,by becoming the first player in the history of football to score against 46 different national teams.
Cristiano Ronaldo also surpassed Sergio Ramos with 181 international caps to become the most capped European international ever, while bringing his total career goals to a staggering 791. The 36 year old forward will hopefully be fit for Manchester United's next Premier League game against Leicester City at the King Power stadium.
2. Jadon Sancho (England)
Manchester United's winger,Jadon Sancho registered two assists for the Three Lions yesterday against Andorra. The highly rated Englishman dropped a master class display for his national team in the 70 minutes he was on the pitch,and was involved in 2/5 goals scored in the game.

3. Scott McTominay (Scotland)
Scott McTominay scored a 94' minute winner against Israel in the world cup qualifiers to give his team all three points in a tense 3-2 encounter. It was his first career international goal for the Scotland national team,and he was really hyped for the goal.
With Fred out of form and unavailable for the Red Devils game against Leicester City on Saturday, McTominay will need this goal as a boost to help control Manchester United's midfield on his return from international duty.
4. Diogo Dalot (Portugal)
In Portugal's 3-0 win over Qatar, Manchester United's right back Diogo Dalot gave Cristiano Ronaldo an assist for his 112th international goal tally. In the absence of Aaron Wan-bissaka, Diogo Dalot will play as right back for the Red Devils,and his assist yesterday will hopefully give him the confidence he needs going into the next game.
