World football governing body, FIFA recently named Austin Okocha and Emmanuel Amuneke as members of a technical advisory group that will consult for FIFA on the future of men's football according to The Sun.
The technical body which is headed by former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has other legendary African players like Didier Drogba and Yaya Toure as members .
Unknown to many, both Austin Okocha and Emmanuel Amuneke were favoured because of their enviable records in football both for country and Africa.
In 1994, both Amuneke and Austin Okocha won the African Cup of Nations tournament; and in 1996, both players won Gold at Atlanta Olympics after defeating Brazil in the semifinals and Argentina in the final.
Nigeria made history as the first African and Non-European and South American team to win the gold medal of the tournament.
It is also on record that Emmanuel Amuneke has played at two FIFA world cup finals while Okocha was at 1994 FIFA world cup finals for Nigeria.
