Anthony Joshua could turn to Mayweather as trainer may be unavailable for big fight with Fury.

Anthony Joshua could be forced to take boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather's offer to train him for his upcoming fight with Tyson Fury as long time trainer, Rob McCracken may be unavailable to put him in shape for the heavyweight showdown sometime this summer.

Mayweather, a former undefeated champion across five weight divisions has never hidden his desire to be at Joshua's corner, having made repeated overtures to have him train him for the big fight.

The duo had hit it off as buddies when Mayweather provided Joshua's camp a training facility in Las Vegas preparatory to his fight against journey-man, Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019.

And, Mayweather had been a surprise guest when Joshua fought and defeated Kubrat Pulev in a routine defence of his titles in England last December.

The boxer who prides himself as 'Money' on account of his stupendous wealth now stands the chance to work with Joshua for the blockbuster, unification clash as McCracken's involvement is being cast in doubt.

McCracken who has trained Joshua since he was an amateur has found himself in a dilemma as he tries to juxtapose his role as Team Great Britain's performance director with coaching Joshua whose fight could come around the Olympics scheduled for between July and August.

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn has hinted that his ward would be compelled to just go on and fight his opponent once the sponsors who are spending the money fix a date, irrespective of whether it clashes with the Tokyo Olympics or not.

He told UK paper, Daily Star,

""We don't have a choice.

"There are too many people and things to fit around already with the fighters, trainers, countries, time zones, the Olympics.

"Really, whatever date we are given by the site is the date we will go with and AJ will have to plan his camp accordingly with Rob," he said.

Well, should Joshua and McCracken not work out a feasible means of working him in shape for the fight in preference for the Olympics, then Mayweather would have to come in.

Meanwhile, there are indications that both fighters' camp are agreeing on Saudi Arabia as a possible venue.

It will be recalled that Joshua beat Andy Ruiz on unanimous points decision in a return bout in faraway Riyadh to reclaim his world heavyweight titles in December 2019 after first losing them to him in June of the same year.
