EURO 2020: See What Mancini, Insigne Said After Italy's 3-0 Win Over Turkey

Italy began the tournament on a good note as they got a 3-0 win over their counterpart Turkey in the first game of Euro 2020 which kickstarted on Friday.

An own goal from Juventus defender Demiral combined with goals from Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne gave the Azzuris the win over the Turkish side.

After the game, Italy manager, Roberto Mancini hailed his players for a wonderful performance but confessed it was not an easy contest against the Turkish national team.

Italy coach Roberto Mancini: "We played well. With it being the first match, it wasn't easy and we were against a good team.

"The crowd helped us, and it was crucial for us to move the ball quickly."

"We have played many teams that have done what Turkey did this evening. They put everyone (back) there, give you little space and make it hard for you to score.

"But the lads had patience. We waited, kept playing, tried to get that goal, then we got it. The lads did really well.

"The first half wasn't straightforward and in a game like that, even if they (Turkey) put everyone back, if you give one (goal) away on the break, the game changes," he added.

One of the goalscorers of the night, Insigne also spoke about his team's victory over Turkey.

Italy forward Lorenzo Insigne: "Our strength is the group; the coach has created a great group in which there are no starters and bench players and each one of us is always ready to sacrifice for our teammates. Winning is the most important thing – if I score, even better. It was a great night."
