Kelechi Ịheanachọ was the saviour and hero of the night for the Brendan Rodgers' side as his only goal sealed the first title for the Foxes in 50 years.
The Nigerian star was sensational despite starting the game from the bench as it only took him 10 minutes to put his side ahead after been introduced in the 79th minutes for Harvey Barnes.
Kelechi Ịheanachọ after coming on was able to found the back of the net in the 89th minutes as he put the ball away from the spot to make it one nil at full time.
Ịheanachọ with his only goal of the night is now the first player to score a penalty in a Community Shield final (excluding shootouts) since Gary McAllister for Liverpool versus Manchester United in 2001.
After the game, Kelechi Ịheanachọ made a post via his verified Instagram handle to give all glory to God for the mission accomplished.
Consequent to the post, fellow Super Eagles teammates like Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, Ogenyi Onazi, Maduka Okoye, Paul Onuachu among others have reacted by congratulating the prolific forward for the job well done.
The game was Kelechi Ịheanachọ's ninth game in all competitions against his former side, scoring his first goal against Manchester City with what was his sixth shot attempt against the Cityzens.
Congratulations once again to our very own Kelechi Ịheanachọ and Wilfred Ndidi for winning yet another trophy for their team.
