Nadal respects Osaka's decision on media duties

Reactions have trailed the announcement of Noami Osaka as regards not talking to the press in this year's edition of the Roland Garros, but Rafael Nadal respects her decision.

Recall that Osaka made a vivid announcement of not performing media duties due to mental distress days to the opening of the main draw.

However, the Women's Tennis Association(WTA) advised the 23-year-old to come to the round table to sort things out, but the body premised on the fact that each player has his or her responsibilities.

Novak Djokovic was not left out as he opined that media is one of the cause that stages some players to stardom global 

Even though Nadal said that the media play a vital role in the development of the game, sports most especially.

“I respect it, I respect her, of course, as an athlete and her personality. I respect her decision. I don’t know. I mean, we as sportspeople, I mean, we need to be ready to accept the questions and to try to produce an answer, no?" Nadal said

“I understand her, but on the other hand, for me, I mean, without the press, without the people who normally travel, who are writing the news and achievements that we are having around the world, we probably will not be the athletes that we are today," he stated categorically

"We [wouldn’t] have the recognition that we have around the world, and we will not be that popular, no?” he ended
