Reason Why Chelsea Will Remain At The Top Of The English Premier League Table For Another Two Weeks

Chelsea is currently at the top of the EPL table, with Liverpool following closely behind in second place, while Manchester City is third on the log.

Chelsea moves to 1st place after their emphatic 3-1 win over Southampton who is deep in the relegation zone following their third consecutive loss of the season.

Chelsea gets back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over 10-man Southampton. Chalobah scored a diving header just nine minutes in to break the deadlock and Werner thought he'd added a second, but it was ruled out by VAR.

In the second half, Chilwell gave away a penalty which was slotted home by Ward-Prowse, who was then sent off 16 minutes later for a bad tackle on Jorginho.

Werner tapped in from close range to restore the lead before Chilwell made up for giving away the spot-kick by scoring a great goal after Lukaku and Azpilicueta hit the woodwork.

Meanwhile, the English Premier League will return to action on the 16th of October after making way for the latest round of World Cup qualifiers, with a host of interesting matches taking place.

Chelsea will hope to continue their winning streak as they take on Brentford after the International break.

That said, here is the reason why Chelsea will stay at the top of the EPL table for another two weeks.

• World Cup qualifiers:

The English Premier League will be put on hold for two weeks as players travel elsewhere to contend on the international stage.

Gameweek 7 of the new season is ahead of us this weekend, but following the outcome of those matches, players will join up with the national teams to continue the international calendar.

The international break will pave way for the World Cup qualifiers matches as Portugal takes on Qatar, Argentina takes on Paraguay, Brazil takes on Venezuela, and Nigeria takes on the Central African Republic.
