UEFA Champions League

2 Chelsea Players That Could Benefits From Timo Werner And Romelu Lukaku's Injury

Chelsea will have to play without their record signing Romelu Lukaku, and German striker Timo Werner for a couple of weeks, after the duo suffered injuries in Chelsea's midweek Champions League game against Malmo.

Although, the absence of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku will leave a void in the Chelsea team, and sounds like a bad news to the Chelsea fans, but some players stand to benefit from the injury of both players.

Squad depth is one thing Chelsea definitely has in their squad, as they have a large number of quality players, but unfortunately only 11 players can be on the field at same time.

So in this article, wo will be looking at the three Chelsea players that could be the greatest beneficiaries from the injury to Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

1. Hakim Ziyech

The Chelsea winger haven't had any quality game time under his belt this season, as his last start for Chelsea was in the Champions League match day two game against Juventus.

Before the start of the season, Ziyech had a very impressive pre-season, which he scored a whopping five goals all through the Pre-season, and was looking like a player that could fight himself into the Thomas Tuchel's team this season, but got an unfortunate injury in the UEFA Super Cups game, which he scored in.

Since his return from injury, he has not played much for the team, and injury to Timo Werner could be a chance for him to step up, and try to work himself back into Thomas Tuchel mind.

2. Kai Havertz

Havertz is the only fit Chelsea player that could play in the striking role for the club , with injuries to Werner and Lukaku.

The 22 years old have not been too consistent with his performance for the team, which made Tuchel dropped him from the starting eleven for a couple of games.

Havertz now have the opportunity to stake his place back in the Chelsea regular lineup, with some easy Chelsea fixtures coming up.

3. Callum Hudson–Odoi

The Chelsea wonder kid has been utilized more on the right wing back by Thomas Tuchel, which is not his preferred position on the field.

Odoi loves to play on either attacking wing of the team, but most preferably the left wing, which could enable him showcase his attacking abilities.

The 20 years old could have his chance in the Chelsea attack, with the injury of Timo Werner.

Which of these two players will you like to see replace Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in the Chelsea starting lineup?
