Lautaro Martinez scored the only goal of the game two minutes before the break with a fine header as Argentina took their unbeaten run to 25 games and moved a step closer to qualifying for the 2022 World Cup with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Peru on Friday at Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Yoshimar Yotun missed a chance to put Peru levelled in the 65th minute after his penalty struck the woodwork.
This 1-0 win over Peru on Thursday leaves Argentina second behind Brazil in the single South American qualifying group.
However after the game between Argentina and Peru on Friday morning, Argentina national team captain, Lionel Messi seems not impressed by the weather and the referee and has taken to Social media to complain about the game.
Lionel Messi posted on Facebook: "Tough game, hard to play. Lots of wind, they all behind leaving few spaces. The referee whenever he direct us he does the same, it seems he does it on purpose. But hey 3 important points that bring us closer to the goal."
