France wins the second edition of the UEFA Nations League

France has added another title to their name as goals from Mbappe and Karim Benzema earned them a 2-1 victory over Spain.

It was a second successive comeback win for Didier Deschamps' side after their thrilling 3-2 semi-final success against Belgium

It was a hard-fought victory for the French national team as Spain did most of the playing and France having to defend.

Spain took the lead through Oyarzabal who latched on to Sergio Busquets' long pass, took on Upamecano and scored in the 64th minute.

But the Spanish lead did not last long as Karim Benzema quickly hit back in the 65th minute. Benzema drew France level with a shot from a distance that Unai Simon could not keep out. Pogba and Mbappe combined to create the chance and Benzema curled home brilliantly from a narrow-angle.

It was a very interesting game of football especially in the second half as both teams kept pushing for the winning goal but it was France that eventually got their full reward when Mbappe delayed his run to race on to Hernandez's through-ball and finish clinically beneath Simon, with the goal upheld by VAR after a check for offside.

France goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris made some very important late minute saves to make sure the French team lifts the trophy for the first time.
