The Ballon D’or (meaning: Golden ball) is the most prestigious individual award that is presented by France Football annually to the most outstanding footballer of the year. It first started in 1956, although from 2010-2015 FIFA took the name to FIFA BALLON D’OR which collapsed in 2016 and took back it’s official name.
The award was cancelled in 2019/2020 season because of the COVID-19 outbreak which disrupted football all over the world and organisers couldn’t meet up to the award due to the financial damage caused by the virus.
This evening, France Football revealed the 30 men who made the shortlist for the 2020/2021 Ballon d’or award. These 30 men will be voted for till they are down to the final 3 men and the winner will be decided in award giving day.

Simon Kjær who was one of the Denmark’s best players and helped them to the semi-final of the EURO2020 this year.
Another name that was expected in the list is Gerard Moreno. He is Villarreal’s beat player in the Europa league final and throughout the season. He helped them win their first ever European trophy.
