Opinion: See the five candidates that could replace Solskjaer as United manager

Man United missed a chance to the chance to qualify for the semi final of the FA, meaning that the club's only chance of silverware lies in winning the Europa league. It has now been reported that the Norway manager will be fired should he fail to win the Europa league amid concerns over the club's lack of trophies.

The mangers reported to be in the frame to take over from Ole should he get the sack are former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, Ralf Rangnick, Julian Nagelsmann, Laurent Blanc as well as Leicester manager Brenden Rodgers. Blanc has had success as manager of PSG while United would need to price Nagelsmann away from RB Lipzig. Former Juve coach Allegri has been without a job since departing the Italian champions and it is reported United are keen admirers of his work at Juve.

Another name on the list is Rodgers who United would need to convince to part ways with Leicester if he is to take the helm at the Old Trafford club.
