3 qualities Ross Barkley offers that Tuchel overlooks.

Chelsea midfielder, Ross Barkley's return from his loan spell at Aston Villa has not been as impressive as expected. He seems not to be in Tuchel's plan for the season. He may not be at his best for now, but his qualities deserve more than the playing time he currently gets.

With recent results not going Chelsea's way, Tuchel needs to look in the direction of the fringe players to spice things up. The regulars are getting tired and some had injury struggles. Barkley recently got a couple of substitute appearances and he literally proved his mettle.

He showed some qualities he's known for and Tuchel just can't afford to overlook these qualities anymore. Maybe he may have no choice now that the likes of Jorginho and kovacic have played too many games and Kante is just returning from his lay-offs. What are these qualities?

1. Long Passes. Barkley is a good long passer. He knows how to put it over the top and has a good vision. Jorginho does this too but Barkley is more direct and he plays with more urgency. This was what we saw him do every week under Maurizio Sarri.

Barkley's cameo against Southampton was such a brilliant one. His cross-field pass found Cesar Azpilicueta who assisted Timo Werner's goal which put the match to bed. I'm sure Tuchel would have watched it over and over again craving for more.

2. Long-range shots. This is one quality Barkley exhibited really well during his break-out season at Everton. He has a knack for long-range shots and he's so accurate doing it. Jorginho, Kante and Kovacic seldom do this but it's also required to win certain games.

Chelsea have recently played matches where the short passes and square balls didn't work. Maybe a couple of accurate shots from range would have seen the team through, but they keep finding the pocket spaces which won't always be there.

3. Super-sub. Barkley is also very effective coming off the bench in matches. He can settle into games very fast and make a difference against tired legs. These qualities can come very handy for Tuchel if he stops overlooking them. Jorginho and kovacic won't be available all the time.
