Super Eagles of Nigeria defender Shehu Abdullahi was exceptional for Omonia Nicosia football club of Cyprus on Sunday evening, in their deserved 1-0 victory over Olympiakos Nicosia in the week 27 of the Cyprus Division 1 League.
The Nigerian international was given another starting spot by coach Henning Berg, after his excellent performance for the club in their previous matches, as they extended their unbeaten run in the League.
Abdullahi started in the away team's defence line, and he was able to help his goalkeeper to keep his 5th straight clean sheets in the league.
After playing out a goalless draw in the first half, Ioannis Kousoulos opened scoring for visitors in the 55th minutes to take the lead, and all their efforts to score more goals in the game were not successful, as the match ended 1-0 in favour of the away team.
Abdullahi Shehu was exceptional for the away team in the game, and he made many clearances to deny the host team an equalizer later on.
The 1-0 victory over Olympiakos Nicosia has now taken Omonia Nicosia FC to the top spot of the Cyprus Division 1 League table with 59 points from 27 matches played.
