Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has revealed that star midfield man Mateo Kovacic will likely miss the club's FA Cup semi final against Man City this weekend. The Croatian midfielder sat out Chelsea's 1-0 nill loss to Portugal giants FC Porto on Tuesday night.
When asked if the injury to Kovacic could keep the midfielder out of the FA Cup last four tie, Thomas Tuchel said: for sure, unfortunately yes, I was very sad to see him after 20 minutes in training have this muscle injury more or less out of nothing. He felt his hamstring and I think he is for sure out of the game against City as well. It's a big loss, I was very sad for me.
Thomas Tuchel will be hoping the impact of the absence of Kovacic is not felt on heavy scales against runaway champions Man City. Tuchel also has to keep his players fit ahead of the champions league semi finals as well their battle to get in the top four for a place in next season's champions league group stages.
