Chelsea hosted Southampton in their first premier league fixture after the October international break.
Frank lampard side were looking to Secure a their first back to back victories of the premier league season after easily seeing off Crystal Palace in the previous fixture.
The match started with Chelsea dominating possession and they got their reward with Timo Werner putting them two goals up inside 20 minutes. Southampton pulled one back before the end of the first half after Kai Havertz lost the ball in midfield with the first half ending 2-1 in favour of Chelsea.
The second half started with Southampton showing more intensity and they got their deserved equalizer after a poor back pass from Kurt Zouma gifted Che Adams the ball in the box.
Chelsea pulled ahead two minutes later through Kai Havertz goal, but Southampton were on hand to secure a 3-3 draw deep into injury time as Jannik Vestergaard scored a late leveler.
Let's take a look at the 4 persons i feel should shoulder more blame than others for the draw
Kai Havertz might have scored on the afternoon, but the blues record signing was generally poor against the saints.
The German international gifted Southampton their first goal of the afternoon after attempting to dribble past three players. Havertz needs to improve, much more is expected from a man that costs so much.
I don't just understand what exactly is wrong with Kepa Arrizzabalaga at Chelsea.
The Spaniard always looks comfortable when he is away on international duty with Spain, but looks a totally different player the minute he dons the Chelsea jersey.
Another disappointing outing for the world record goalkeeper.
Performances like this one will leave Chelsea fans wondering if Kurt Zouma would be right partner for Thiago Silva at the club.
The French international was directly at fault for Southampton second goal as his poor back pass exposed Kepa Arrizzabalaga's fragility at the post.
A very poor showing.
Frank lampard will also have to shoulder some blame for the draw against Southampton.
The English coach came up with a his best Xi against the saints, but ultimately failed to make the right changes and adjustments to his team when the blues were over ran by Southampton in midfield. Lampard should have brought in Matteo Kovacic to give Chelsea more stability in midfield.
Truth be told, Frank lampard should be getting better from the current crop of players at his disposal.
