Jubilation as 2 Nigerian footballers help their club gain promotion for the first time in 123 years

One of the factors that make league football more competitive is that teams get promoted and relegated. This helps teams to be on their toes to perform their best because a poor-performing team will be replaced at the end of the season.

Sutton United is an English club that was founded in 1898, they play in the fifth tier of the English league. They just gained promotion to the EFL League 2 for the first time in their 123 years of existence.

Sutton United was crowned champions of the National League after defeating Hartlepool 3-0. Two Nigerian footballers, David Ajiboye who is called the 'Magic Man', and Isaac Olaofe were instrumental to the much-needed promotion.

Isaac Olaofe who is on-loan from Millwall scored the winner against Hartlepool. There has been jubilation in Sutton and the players have been called 'History Makers'.

Congratulations to David Ajiboye, Isaac Olaofe, and Sutton United!
