Manchester City broke the bank for the signature of Jack Grealish. The Citizens paid a whopping sum of £100m to Aston Villa in the summer of 2021.

On the other side of Manchester, The Red Devils also made some big signings but Cristiano Ronaldo's return was regarded as the best business done by the club in the summer.

The Portuguese star re-joins Manchester United from Juventus in a deal worth roughly £25m and he has been producing some outstanding performances to show he remains relevant in the game despite his age.

However, I want to bring to the light of my readers, how Jack Grealish is benefiting from the return of Cristiano Ronaldo despite playing for different clubs.

Since the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, he has barely gone a week without making headlines, it's either he makes headlines for scoring a last-minute goal for the club, or he makes the headline for been benched which in turn make Manchester United draw matches or suffer shock defeat at the hands of small teams.

If those things ain't happening around the Portuguese star, then all eyes would have been on Jack Grealish who had completed a big-money move to City.

Arguably, Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the biggest asset in the premier league, and despite his transfer fee been lower than Jack Grealish's, he continues to make a wave on England's soul.

Let's now say Ronaldo didn't make a return to Old Trafford, then the ball falls on a man who attracts the biggest transfer fee in British football history.

In all honesty, Pep Guardiola has been using Grealish in almost all the matches played this season but the Englishman has registered just one goal apiece in the premier league and champions league.

The media would have started coming for his head due to his little number when it comes to scoring goals, criticism and backlash would have started coming his way.

Conclusively, Ronaldo's return has helped Grealish maneuver from the spotlight of the media, and if not that, the 26-year-old could have seen his game drop drastically because of the physiological effect inflict on him by the media just because he makes a big-money move.
