Later commited another foul and the referee showed him a second yellow card, forgetting that be had been formerly booked. It was when he committed the third foul that he was shown the overdue red card.
2. Manager for 10 minutes:
Leroy Rosenior was manager of Torquay United for just 10 minutes. He was manager of the club from 2002 till 2006, and later came back in 2007. However, 10 minutes after he was signed the second time, the club was sold and the new owners sacked him.
3. Fatal joke:
Lazio's midfielder, Luciano Re Cecconi told a joke that killed him. He walked into a jewelry shop in Rome and shouted 'Stop! This is a robbery!'. He was shot immediately by the store owner and he died trying to explain the joke.
4. Manager sells himself as a player:
Ivar Broadis who was the manager of Carlisle United sold himself to Sunderland for $18,000 to boost the finances of the club he was leaving. He did this because Carlisle United were broke at the moment.
5. When 1 coin cost $40,000:
During a FA Cup game for Liverpool against Arsenal in 2002, Jamie Carragher was struck by a coin thrown from the stands, he got so enraged and flung it back into the crowd. He was shown a red card and Liverpool were charged with a $40,000 fine. He also lost his place in England's squad for a while.
6. Pele depended on a lucky shirt:
There was a time Pele experienced a dip in form, and he was so worried that he asked a friend to help him track down a fan that he signed a lucky shirt for. The shirt returned, and so did his form. It was later revealed that the original lucky shirt couldn't be found and the returned shirt was just one that he had formerly won.
