EUROPA LEAGUE — Alkmaar vs Celtic: Match Prediction, Preview & Kickoff Time

When Celtic travel to the Netherlands to face AZ Alkmaar in the second leg of their Europa League playoff, they have their sights set on a spot in the group stage. After a difficult start to the season, the Scottish team has been in excellent form, leading 2-0 after the first match. AZ comes into this game having lost two straight games and failing to score, so the pressure is on them at this point.

They haven't kept a clean sheet in their last three games and will be hoping to bounce back after a poor start to the season. It's been better at home, with the squad going 13 games without losing, all of which were victories, and scoring two or more goals in 11 of them.

They have eight clean sheets in their previous ten home matches, but no wins in their last five Europa League fixtures despite progressing to the group stages last season. AZ has lost three of its previous five Europa League matches and has failed to score in three of them.

Celtic are in fantastic form and will be looking to continue that here; they've won their past six games, scoring two or more goals in each of them. They are coming off a 6-0 win over St. Mirren in the Premiership heading into this encounter.

Joe Hart, a former England international, was a last-minute addition to the club, but the gamble has paid off, with the team now having kept four clean sheets in their previous five games. With 20 goals in their past five games and four of their last five games producing over 2.5 goals, the attacking department is also performing admirably.

They are, however, unstable away from home, with only one win in the last four games and one clean sheet in the last five. In four of their last five away encounters, both teams have scored.

Two mighty teams meet in this Europa League group stage encounter. Celtic have been in excellent form recently, scoring a lot of goals. AZ are also in excellent form at home and will be determined to avenge their first-leg defeat. They have a history of scoring at home and should be preparing an attacking formation for this game. Both teams to score appear to be a good choice here, given their attacking abilities. The game will go down today at 7:15PM Nigerian time.
