The 250-member delegation comprising athletes, coaches and backroom staff members, safely arrived at Ilorin at about 11:00 am on Monday, 11 October, without any hiccup on their journey.
According to the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Sir Monday Uko, in a statement Monday signed by his Special Assistant on Media/Communications, Edidiong Stephen, all athletes will participate in the general screening exercise and opening ceremony which have been scheduled for today Wednesday, 13 October and Friday, 15 October respectfully at the sports complex of the University of Ilorin.
“Members of the state delegation are enjoined to compete fairly and courageously with the aim of winning as many gold medals as they can in order to promote their career and bring glory to the state,” he added.
The event takes place from 10 to 19 October 2021.
