Following the appointments of John Murtough as Football Director and former midfielder Darren Fletcher as Technical Director in March, the Cambridge University graduate is one of a number of changes to United's structure in 2021.

With reports that Kelechi Iheanacho suffered an injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles, Leicester City fans will be concerned ahead of their forthcoming Premier League match against Manchester United.

On October 16, the Foxes host the Red Devils at the King Power Stadium in their first match following the international break, and Iheanacho might be joining compatriot Wilfred Ndidi in the treatment room.

In the 34th minute of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Central African Republic, Iheanacho fell to the ground and motioned to the bench that he needed to be substituted after playing a curling shot that came dangerously close to finding the back of the net.

The Super Eagles attacker played through the pain barrier after suffering the injury and was replaced at halftime.
