REPORTS: Chelsea football club officially complete the signing of 18-year-old defender this summer

Without much doubts, Chelsea football club will most definitely remain keen on further strengthening their current squad by signing some new players this summer.

Do remember that the West London club were in good form for the most part of the 2021/2022 season where they ultimately finished in 3rd position on the Premier League table.

Despite that, Chelsea want to challenge for the Premier League trophy next season and have completed the signings of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly to improve their squad.

However, Chelsea football club are not done with transfer businesses just yet and have now completed the signing of highly-rated left-back Zak Sturge from Brighton this summer.

The 18-year-old England International, who gained promotion to the Brighton U-18 squad back in 2020 is yet to break into the first-team squad over the previous seasons.

The young left-back was quite influential for Brighton youth squad during the just concluded 2021/2022 season where he registered three assists in 19 appearances in all competitions.

His impressive performances in defence is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea football club and according to reports from popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his verified Twitter page, Chelsea have secured his transfer from Brighton.

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are truly impressed with the qualities of the young Zak Sturge and have now completed transfer move for him this summer.

It is believed that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants to further invest in the Chelsea academy this summer and he has identified Zak Sturge as a needed addition to the club.

That said, the young Zak Sturge is now expected to continue his developments at Chelsea academy with the aim of breaking into the first-team squad in the next few seasons.
