Tests carried out on Monday morning confirmed that Gareth Bale suffered a long-term injury to his right hamstring. Bale suffered an injury during Real Madrid's last training session at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday 11 September, ahead of their game against Celta Vigo the next day. Images then circulated of the Welshman limping with a bandage wrapped around his right thigh after training.
The Real Madrid forward's injury could not have come at a worse time, given Los Blancos' busy schedule leading up to the next international break. Real Madrid will play six games over the next three weeks, including four games in Liga Santander and two games in the Champions League.
As Bale ages he suffers more and more injuries, suffering three setbacks in the 2020/21 season with Tottenham Hotspur. He was absent for a total of 40 days with a knee problem, then 10 days due to illness and an additional 18 days due to another muscle injury.
