Chelsea face Real Madrid in the second leg of their Uefa champions league semi final tie which is currently 1-1 after the first leg. The Blues under Thomas Tuchel have been a very efficient team but they might face the European giants without a very key player.
That Player is Mateo Kovacic, the Croatian who is the current holder of Chelsea's player of the season from last year is undoubtedly one of the team's best Player and is ball carrying capacity was missed when the Blues faced Madrid in the first leg.
Kovacic absence due to a hamstring injury was actually not too exposed due to the amazing performance of Ngolo Kante and Jorginho but Kovacic ability on the ball is currently been missed in Chelsea's recent games. If the Croatian misses the second leg, it might not be noticed if the Blues qualify but if they don't, it might be a one of the reasons.
Kovacic has been out with a hamstring injury for over two weeks and will face a race against time to be fit to face Real Madrid.
Can Chelsea perform against Madrid without Kovacic.
