Aguda Fulfils Falkenbergs Promise With Stunning Debut Goal

After his unveiling  by Swedish Superettan side, Falkenbergs FF on August 24, 2021, Nigeria striker, Godwin Aguda promised to make the club happy and proud.

The 23-year-old who joined the club from Rivers United on a two-year contract, did exactly so on his debut over the weekend, delivering a stunning goal in 2-1 Superettan Game week 20 loss at Jönköpings Södra IF.

Even though the 82nd minute long volley couldn't prevent his team from being beaten, it sent their travelling fans into celebration frenzy at Stadsparksvallen, Jönköping, and has continued to serve as both talking and reverence points across Sweden.

"I will do my best to make the Falkenbergs happy and proud," said Aguda, who received the coach's nod to feature in the match after proving his mettle with the U21 team in 3-0 defeat to Elfsborg on Tuesday.

The sublime effort was Aguda's seventh successive goal, having recorded six in Rivers United's colours, to help the club finish second in the Nigeria Professional Football League standings before completing his transfer to Falkenberg on 10 August 2021.

The former Al-Washm is one of three Nigerians on Falkenbergs FF's payroll, others being Umar Mohammed Bala 23, midfielder and 32-year-old Nsima Peter.

Aguda, who also previously played for Enugu Rangers is synonymous with goals, having netted 23 times in 52 appearances for Rivers United from 2020-2021. He was topscorer of the 2018-19 CAF Confederation Cup with six goals.
