Why Xhaka might not be starting against Spurs

Granit Xhaka has been looking on to bounce back to the English Premier League football after suffering a blow against Manchester City. It has been a horrible return from International football for Xhaka, he had a good time in Switzerland and many Gunners would have been expecting a modicum of mouth-watering performance from him. I must admit that Football is a very complicated game.

Anyway, Xhaka is back now in Arsenal's training camp. He's ready to show the Gunners fans that he still got it. His hard work in Arsenal's training session is intriguing to watch, the preparation to set the midfield burning with a quality performance could be seen in him. Unfortunately, Xhaka may not be starting against Tottenham Hotspurs due to these two valid reasons.

1. Xhaka's erratic behavior on the Pitch

In a North London derby match, there are high tendencies for physical battles to emerge. They are rivals and that should be expected in a big game like that. You need a cool-minded player in this kind of game, putting Xhaka in the mix is very dangerous. The Swiss player is like a time bomb that can explode any time, you won't see him coming.

A bad tackle can earn him a red without a Var review. To field him on the pitch when Arteta is currently trying to get the favor of the fans would be very difficult. We respect his effort in training and all that, but the attitude factor Is very much important in a big game like this one. If Xhaka had happened to be a winger, maybe Arteta would have considered playing him, but at the middle of the park, there would be so many contemplating reasons on why he shouldn't start the game.

2. Albert Sambi Lokonga new impact on the Arsenal's team poses a threat to Xhaka's static movement

One of the Gunners players who deserve to be in the starting lineup for Arsenal against Spurs is Albert Lokonga. His runs up in play shouldn't be underestimated at any point in the game.

He's a fantastic lad that could take the ball upfront compared to Xhaka who lacks the technique to pace off the opponents. Albert has the attacking upshot and that's what Arsenal needs against a Spurs team. Partey hasn't gotten around so well in doing the box-to-box work for Arsenal, he has managed to settle down in the defensive line. If you are gonna place Xhaka with him, it's going to be a passing competition between the two players. A man who can make the runs with the ball glued to his feet will benefit Arsenal in the North London derby.
