Ex Nigeria international and Al Shabab of Saudi Arabia striker, Odion Jude Ighalo, has expressed delight at the lofty developmental plans Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has for the popular Maracana football pitch in Ajegunle.
In a post on his Instagram page on Saturday, the 32 years old stated that he was excited about the Governor's plans and work ongoing to improve the standard of living and infrastructures in the community noted for producing football talents for Nigeria.
The former Julius Berger player issued a statement on the back of his courtesy visit to the Governor's office on Friday, to felicitate with on his 56th birthday, and rub minds with the Governor on his developmental plans across the State, particularly Ajegunle.
The statement read: "I want to once again wish his Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a happy birthday and thank him for having me and for his very warm reception .We spoke about the youths and football development in Lagos state and Nigeria at large, particularly football and youth development in my beloved Ajegunle," stated Ighalo, who named an Ambassador of National Principal Cup earlier in the week.
He added: "The Governor briefed me on the States Government's plan and work ongoing in Ajegunle to improve the standard of living and infrastructures in the community. We particularly discussed about the Maracana football pitch in Ajegunle and all other sporting facilities in the area .Finally , I want to thank his Excellency for his commendation on my work in giving back to the society .
I am indeed pleased with his work and his governance in the State . I wish him the very best in his remaining days in office. "
